Error: 38 - Unable to verify your subscription status. How to Fix This?

Error: 38 - Unable to verify your subscription status. What should I do?

Let’s reset your Internet Explorer Settings

  • Open Internet Explorer. You can do this by double clicking on the Internet Explorer icon or selecting it from the start menu. In the top of the window, select ‘tools’ then ‘internet options’.
  • Click here to clear Internet temporary files and cookies
  • Choose the ‘Security’ tab and click the ‘Internet’ icon -- it looks like a globe. Then, click the ‘default level’ button. In some cases, the ‘default level’ button can’t be clicked. If this happens, don’t worry about it.
  • Now choose the 'Local Intranet' icon, then click the 'default level' button. Again, don't worry if you can't click the 'default level' button.
  • Choose the advanced tab and then click the 'Restore Defaults' button. In Internet Explorer 7, it's the 'Restore Advanced Settings' button. Click 'Okay' when you're done and try signing into MSN again.
  • Still seeing the same error? Are all the accounts having the same sign-in issue? If yes, then click here to ask a question.
  • Only when using your Primary Account? Then let’s try logging into our website and check if your account is being recognized here.
  • Open Internet Explorer. You can do this by double clicking on the Internet Explorer icon or selecting it from the start menu.
  • Go to https://membercenter.msn.com/default.aspx, sign-in using the Primary Account
  • Click here to contact support, be sure to let our agents know if you were successfully able to sign into Member Center website or not.
  • Seeing the error when using a Secondary Account?

  • Open Internet Explorer. You can do this by double clicking on the Internet Explorer icon or selecting it from the start menu.
  • Go to https://membercenter.msn.com/UserManagement.aspx, sign-in using the Primary Account, from the drop down next to select a member, please select the account seeing the error
  • Note The account should show as a Regular Member if the account does not have admin privilege. If the account shows as a regular member then let’s upgrade the account to an account manager

  • Click “Change this member to an account manager”, now sign into MSN, if you are now able to sign-in, please click here and let us know about this issue. While we work on the issue you can sign into MSN Explorer using the above mentioned workaround.
